Bible Study

Monday 7:30 - 9:00pm at church
Tusday 1:30 - 3:00pm at the manse
At Heald Green United Reformed Church we believe that God's Word can be found in the Bible, but we are most likely to discover what God is saying to us as a church when we read and explore it together.
We have two Bible Study groups, simply to cater for both people who are free in the evenings and the afternoons.
Our meetings are informal and FUN, and often wide ranging in what we discuss.
The format is simple, first we spend time to discuss the previous Sundays service, asking questions, making comments and observations. Then we take time to read all the lectinary passages set for the following Sunday. After reading the passages we discuss as a group any links we find betwen them, before going into a more detailed study and discussion of one or two of the passages. Finally and most importantly we ask the 'So What'? question. What is the relevance of the readings to us, and what we have shared and discovered together. If we don't ask the 'So What' question, our study remains just an interesting evening. If we dare to ask the question, God may speak to us, and our lives will be changed!
The life and health of our church is dependant on a healthy relationship with God's Word.
